I have such an exciting announcement for you!
This April, I am hosting a month-long celebration of independent bookstores, just in time for Independent Bookstore Day on April 24, 2021. Each #BookBirthday Tuesday, I will post a collection of book wisdom from booksellers around the country.
If you have a bookseller you love, please share this post with them on social media or via email! I’d be thrilled to feature them! And if you’re a bookseller and you’re interested in participating, please fill out this Google Form by March 15th. I’d LOVE to include you in the celebration!

Insight and Inspiration 
Can’t wait to see what stores and stories you feature. I can only think of one independent bookstore in our city and that is the The King’s English Bookstore. Many of the older ones downtown have closed for good this year. It’s sad.

Well, I misspoke, I did a little more research and found 15 independent bookstores in my city and didn’t even know about most of them.

I looked over your revision tips after listening to your book talk on Rate Your Story Tinker and Talk on February 28. Did you really try the Charlie and the Dragon story in every type of structure there is? What one besides what you published it as worked almost as well as the final version in Rosie the Dragon and Charlie Make Waves?
Hi Sheri, I actually didn’t try Rosie and Charlie in every type of structure. I wrote seven different picture books that week in different structures. Rosie and Charlie was my attempt at writing in a “how to” structure. I hope that makes sense! It was nice “seeing” you on Sunday!
